Chapter 3980 MU: The Superbody Incident (Sixty)

“Oh, Captain America. I like this guy.” Batman, the Adventurer, said, arms crossed, looking at the projection. “He’s a WWII veteran who thwarted an evil organization serving the Axis powers, and even fell under the ice and got trapped. None of his abilities are outstanding, but they’re very well-rounded. Especially that shield, it seems like nothing can break it.”

“We have to take care of his shield first,” Batman Arkham said. “That special metal provides extremely high impact resistance. If we don’t separate his shield from his armor, we could fight him for a year and still not beat him. But if we lose his shield, his fighting ability will be greatly reduced.”

"What are the properties of this special metal? Is it just that it has strong impact resistance? Can it be attracted by a magnet or something?"

"That would probably require a very large magnet," the Batman from the main universe said tactfully, "probably the kind that only Magneto on the other side could create."

“We can get him to give up his shield,” Batwoman said. “As far as I know, he has a habit of throwing his shield to attack people. We can lure him to attack something first, and then take his shield away.”

"That's a good idea. Perhaps we can pretend to attack his teammates, forcing him to go and provide support, and then take his shield in the process."

"What if he has other shields?"

“This thing is quite heavy. Although he is very strong, carrying too much of it would be a burden. I am more inclined to believe that he doesn’t have a spare shield. But if he does, we can use the same trick again. Even if he is on guard, he will have no choice but to save him.”

“Nobility is the epitaph of the noble,” Batman remarked.

“Iron Man. I prefer Iron Man,” said the cyborg Batman. “His mechanical engineering skills are truly exceptional; the mechs he creates are all incredibly powerful. I heard from Spider-Man that he has at least several hundred spare mechs. How do we deal with him?”

"Can we make a breakthrough from the software side?" Batwoman asked.

“I’m afraid it will be difficult. His electronic butler Jarvis is very powerful,” said Batman Arkham. “He’s a perfect electronic life form with feelings, marriage, and even children. With the technology to hack into him, we wouldn’t have to worry about Ultron.”

Batmen sighed in unison; the mere mention of electronic life made their heads spin. They wondered if the feng shui of the other world was bad or too good—how could an electronic life form become sentient?

"Then physical destruction is the only option. Superman's freezing breath combined with laser beams should be able to wipe out the mech army as quickly as possible. But if Doctor Doom also creates some kind of robots, the number to be eliminated will probably be considerable."

“I think Shazam’s abilities will be useful,” one of the Batmen said, stroking his chin. “He can summon lightning, and intense electricity is deadly to any robot. What do you think?”

“That’s not bad,” the main universe Batman nodded, “but it won’t work on that universe’s Iron Man. He uses a magic core, and if you use magical lightning to electrify him, you might just recharge him.”

"A magic core? This guy is skilled in both physical and magical combat? Does that mean he has no weaknesses?"

“He has some major character flaws,” said the main universe Batman. “He’s a bit arrogant and loves to show off, so he’ll probably choose to go to the front lines and keep fighting. We can use that to set a trap for him and keep him occupied for a while.”

“I think the Lasso of Truth would be more useful,” Arkham Batman said with a smile. “You tie him up, ask him some embarrassing questions, and then broadcast it over the loudspeaker. He’ll probably be too ashamed to show his face in public.”

The main universe's Batman couldn't help but glance at him, his look probably conveying, "What grudge do you hold against me?"

"The Hulk. That's probably the toughest one to deal with," Batman sighed. "I heard he can throw an entire planet. Who on our side can match his strength?"

“Bane is definitely no match. Even if he used every single drug in that flask, he still couldn’t beat the Hulk. But I’ve heard that this guy’s emotions are a bit unstable. Could we use that to our advantage?”

"But the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes."

“Then let Ron hypnotize him,” one of the Batmen suggested. “If we can calm him down mentally, we can make him lose the Hulk’s power.”

"That's one way, but only if we don't get countered by the other side's psychic abilities," the main universe Batman sighed.

Then they talked about several more members of the Avengers, and finally they got to the most difficult issue that no one wanted to discuss—mutants.

"My God, how did this race even come into being?" Batwoman exclaimed. "I've searched through all the records to find their weaknesses, haha, there are no weaknesses at all."

Other Batmen may not want to boost the morale of others and diminish their own, but that's really the case.

To be precise, mutants have too many weaknesses. Those Epsilon-level mutants are riddled with flaws. But the problem is, powerful mutants are too powerful; it's as if the power of an entire race is concentrated in a few individuals, making it impossible to find any openings.

“Professor X probably won’t go all out,” the main universe Batman said. “However, I will still try to develop a brainwave shielding device, like Magneto’s helmet, which should at least be able to shield the brainwaves of the command center. As for psychic abilities… we can only try to avoid their sharp edge and not confront them head-on.”

“What about Magneto?” Batwoman asked. “At least brainwaves can be blocked, but how are you going to block the fundamental forces of the universe? As far as I know, Magneto has mastered the unified field theory. If he wanted to, he could create a universe at his fingertips, and he wouldn’t be much different from a creator.”

“That’s right,” said Batman Arkham. “Don’t think of him as a person, just think of him as the embodiment of the four fundamental forces of the universe. Fighting him is like fighting against the universe we live in. How can you defeat the space you live in?”

“Magic,” the main universe Batman said. “As long as we have enough magical energy, we can build a shield. Magic can be used to fight against the fundamental forces of the universe.”

"What about the mages?" Batman asked again. "They certainly have more energy than we've found so far. If it's magic against magic, they'll definitely have the advantage."

"We can't fight them head-on with mages, after all, they have the home-field advantage and are more adept at using energy. We should find their nemesis."

"Nemesis?"

"That's right. Do you know anyone who is immune to magic?"

The Batmen started talking all at once. There were indeed a few beings who weren't so easily affected by magic, like the five-dimensional beings, but these beings were mostly unstable. Getting them into battle, let alone fighting, was difficult enough.

Moreover, the main purpose this time is to train the Justice League. If too many outside helpers are recruited, then the training effect will be lost.

“Do you know about Deathstroke’s weapon?” the main universe Batman said. “I heard from Constantine that he seems to have a sword that is completely immune to magic.”

“Oh, that’s true,” said the Great Adventurer Batman. “He has a lot of weird stuff. You mean we’re hiring him?”

"No. This weapon doesn't just become immune to magic for no reason; there must be some material inside that has this property. We can use this material to build something to defend against mages."

“That should work. I’ll go back and ask him,” Arkham Batman said. “If we use this material on the base or transport equipment, it should make us immune to the sorcerer’s effects.”

"Of course, we can't just rely on materials; Green Lanterns also need to be prepared," said the main universe Batman. "Green Lanterns and sorcerers can both build small portals, so they're about equal in terms of mobility. Only if Green Lanterns keep the sorcerers under control will the others have room to maneuver."

The Batmen all nodded in agreement.

“What about Mephisto?” Batman Arkham said. “You know, there are quite a few devils on their side.”

"Call the raven. At worst, let the Triple Demon fight Mephisto. If that doesn't work, we'll have to rely on the mages' ability to summon reinforcements. I believe Constantine won't lose."

The Batman's confident tone in the main universe left all Batmen speechless. He really wasn't afraid of embarrassing himself in the next world.

Was Constantine actually summoning people? He was using the devil's hatred towards him to lure them there. But then again, it could be considered a form of summoning. Don't worry about the person's feelings; just tell them whether they came or not.

“There should be a spaceship on the other side,” Batwoman said, arms crossed. “I heard Spider-Man from their universe mention that they recently built their own starship, and it will definitely have escort ships. How do we fight?”

“We have spaceships in our universe, right?” The main universe Batman looked around at the other Batmen and said, “If all else fails, I’ll borrow a few from Darkseid. Those ships aren’t really suited for human operation, but they’re quite strong. Cyborg can operate them, and Green Lantern can simulate some using Green Lantern energy; that should be enough.”

“And Asgard,” someone suggested. “I heard it’s an organization similar to Mount Olympus, and those gods are pretty formidable. Should we hand it over to Wonder Woman?”

“Yes, that’s exactly what I plan to do,” said the main universe Batman. “I’ll mainly leave it to Wonder Woman and Shazam. Martian Manhunter can also provide support. Even without using his psychic abilities, Martian Manhunter is a formidable fighter.”

Then they discussed many possible scenarios. But in reality, this discussion was just to reassure everyone, letting them know that their strength was not weak and that they could barely put up a fight. When a real battle broke out, the situation would be ever-changing, and decisions could not be made based on any fixed formula; most of the time, one would have to adapt to the circumstances.

However, they soon got to the point.

What about Schiller?

Upon hearing this, all the Batmen fell silent—a silence unlike anything they had ever heard before. The atmosphere was even more somber than when Professor X and Magneto appeared.

Schiller's data was projected onto the screen. Upon closer inspection, his stats weren't particularly high, far inferior to those of the mutant monsters. But for some reason, the bats remained silent.

Some Batmen who had never encountered Schiller were puzzled by their serious demeanor and quietly inquired about it. Those who knew him explained a simple truth: if Schiller's stats were so low and he didn't seem to possess any particularly outstanding abilities, where did his formidable reputation come from?

This is indeed a point of contradiction. And as we all know, powerful heroes whose stats don't seem impressive are usually those with peculiar mechanics.

In the end, it was Batman from the main universe, who knew Schiller best, who made the final decision.

“Schiller will never go to the front lines,” he said. “He’ll at most take a second-line position and watch from the sidelines. That’s what he likes to do.”

"Why?" Batman asked.

The main universe's Batman didn't answer because the question was unanswerable. He couldn't very well say that he knew Schiller might be behind it all, and that this guy orchestrated such a massive scheme not to destroy the universe, nor to kill and plunder, but simply to watch the spectacle like a madman at the last minute, could he?

Schiller made these dumplings specifically for this dish of vinegar; how could he possibly be distracted by doing anything else when the vinegar was served?
