Chapter 4043 MU Superbody Major Event (123)

Chapter 4043 MU: The Superbody Incident (123)

Schiller lay behind a crater. When he opened his eyes, he saw the distant silhouette of a volcano, its plume of smoke shooting into the sky. A massive planet hung overhead, and the shield module on his belt emitted a piercing alarm.

He reached out and touched it; the metal plate was scorching hot. This proved that the shield had just suffered a powerful impact, and its energy was now almost depleted. If he hadn't had two life support systems, he might have suffocated by now.

He used his arms first, then his waist to roll over. Schiller slowly got up from the ground. That unsuccessful emergency landing had successfully broken two of his ribs.

The destruction of the spaceship wasn't unexpected. After all, Greed's goal was to incite a war between the two sides. The news that they had obtained the two gems couldn't be kept secret. They just hadn't expected the enemy to arrive so quickly.

Schiller breathed a sigh of relief, realizing his breathing wasn't significantly affected, and knew the shield must have done a great job. The standard equipment of this cosmic FBI was indeed of very high quality, and Thanos was certainly a good director.

He checked himself over and found that apart from a broken rib, he was otherwise fine. His emergency landing gear kit had fallen about a hundred meters away. Schiller slowly walked over and retrieved it.

Inside is a thermal dagger, some emergency food and water, and most importantly, a single-soldier thruster—used to propel units without additional power into space. Its maximum speed is decent, and when used with a shield, short-distance movement is not a problem.

Schiller looked up at the massive planet above him. If he remembered correctly, when the spaceship crashed, he had set the crash site to Marketplace in Alpha Centauri, but it was probably too late by then, so he didn't land on the main planet's surface, but instead landed on a moon. This might have saved his life, though.

After all, satellites are small, and the gravitational pull of the host planet is relatively large, making it generally impossible for spacecraft to set up emergency landings on them. Anyone with a basic understanding of space would assume that Schiller likely made an emergency landing on the host planet, so the main force is probably currently searching for him there.

If they had been found immediately, they would have been dead. But now that they've landed on a satellite, there's a glimmer of hope.

Schiller pulled out his communicator, but he dared not contact Batman, because Jarvis was on the other end. Sending any signal now would likely be giving the other party his location.

The Infinity Stones are far too important, and Marvel has just suffered tremendous losses. Even for the sake of morale, they cannot afford to lose another battle, so this time the scale of the operation will be enormous. If they encounter a large force, Schiller is not entirely confident of escaping.

Having collected his equipment, Schiller looked around. There were some charred marks on the ground, likely left from the spaceship crash. If he had landed on a satellite, Constantine shouldn't be far away—and Constantine still had a gem in his possession.

Schiller followed the trail and soon found the crash-landed spaceship and the unconscious Constantine on the other side of the crater.

The spaceship was completely destroyed; a small portion of it had already plunged into the ground, billowing black smoke. Everything inside was definitely ruined. Constantine was ejected from the landing gear to a distance of over ten meters, and due to his even worse physical condition, he was still unconscious.

Schiller went over and woke him. Constantine jolted awake. Schiller, too lazy to explain the situation, simply took the Eye of Agamotto from his hand.

“Hey, wait,” Constantine shouted, “you can’t use this thing. Give it to me.”

Schiller examined the object but didn't find anything special about it. Knowing he wasn't cut out to be a mage, he handed it back to Constantine.

The moment Constantine grasped the Eye of Agamotto, a dense white light shone forth, and both of their injuries were healed.

Constantine struggled to his feet, then coughed violently, followed by vomiting. After thrashing about for a while, he sat back down on the ground like a ghost, and said, "Coming for the Infinity Stones?"

"I guess so. What about your gear?"

Constantine walked to the back of the spaceship, picked up the box, and found it to be quite something. He had smashed it to pieces, but the box itself was perfectly intact, without even a scratch.

"What do we do? Sit here and wait for reinforcements?"

Schiller shook his head and said, "The other side won't let this go this time. There are too few places for the satellite to hide. We'll be caught before reinforcements arrive. We should go to the main planet."

"What planet is this?" Constantine asked.

"The Marketplace in Centaurus, I don't know its scientific name, but it's the second largest black market in the universe. And since the largest black market near the Shi'ar Empire's teleportation portal was shut down, this should be the largest."

Constantine pulled another cigarette from the box, trying to light it, but it was clear the life support system wasn't providing him with the oxygen needed to keep the cigarette burning. He tried several times without success, and kicked the ground hard.

Schiller noticed his hand was trembling slightly—a typical symptom of nicotine withdrawal. He pulled a nicotine patch from his pocket and handed it to him.

Constantine's eyes lit up. He took it, stuck it on, and then said, "You don't look like someone who smokes."

"Why do you say that?" The two talked as they headed toward the main star.

“I know you smoke, and you probably often have a cigarette in your mouth or offer cigarettes to others, but you are definitely not addicted to cigarettes, and you may never have even smoked one. You can’t fool me.”

Constantine took a few deep breaths, and as the nicotine patch took effect, he became a little more sober. Then he said, "Any real smoker can tell. But I'm a little confused. Why pretend to smoke?"

“Law enforcement work is stressful, and most people smoke. If I don’t, I’ll seem a bit out of place. Sometimes when we’re on a mission and smoking isn’t allowed, I’ll carry nicotine patches with me to prevent anyone from losing their life because of a craving.”

“You’re a good leader,” Constantine said with a smile. “So, you don’t find the work stressful?”

Do you think we're under a lot of pressure right now?

"Cough cough..." Although he didn't smoke, Constantine still took a deep breath like a heavy smoker, coughed violently, gagged, and then cleared his throat, saying, "I was already close to death, every extra day I live is a bonus. What about you?"

“It would be best if you thought that way,” Schiller said, not directly answering his question, but adding, “Because the probability of our deaths might be very high next, so just don’t complain then.”

Constantine shrugged and chuckled softly.

The two used thrusters to fly towards the main star. The distance was very far, but fortunately the thrusters were fast enough that they would arrive in about ten hours.

People can rest at this time, so the two of them took turns. Schiller rested for a while first, then Constantine. Perhaps because he wasn't feeling well, Constantine slept very soundly, so Schiller didn't wake him.

However, during the flight, Schiller discovered that the Interstellar Security Committee's ships had sealed off the planet, and that people had already gone to search the moon where they had previously been.

Thanos is, after all, a member of the central universe, a part of this universe. When the Avengers approached him, asking for his help in the investigation, he couldn't refuse outright, so he sent people to seal off the area.

However, at most, they could only block the airspace, preventing spaceships and aircraft from taking off and landing. A ground search would likely be extremely difficult, because a black market of this scale would be impossible without protection; the interests involved are far too complex, and Thanos wouldn't take the blame for it.

Schiller felt that as long as the search party wasn't from the Interstellar Security Committee, his chances of survival were much higher. After all, mutants were unlikely to get involved in this mess, and if it was just the Avengers, who weren't professionals, he could still hold out until reinforcements arrived.

By the time the Interstellar Security Committee's ships sealed off the planet's outer layer, Schiller and his companions had already entered the atmosphere. Because their individual size was so small that they likely wouldn't even appear on planetary-level radar, no one attempted to stop them.

After a long flight of more than ten hours, the two landed successfully, and after Schiller's adjustments, they landed next to the largest assembly area.

This isn't some open-air market; it's a massive city, originally built by interstellar migrants and later converted into a black market. Schiller came here for one purpose: to find Constantine.

Not the Constantine currently with him, but the Constantine from the main universe. This guy was sent here by the main universe's Batman to fish, and although the fish has already been caught, he probably hasn't left yet. With him around, the chances of survival are much higher.

He and Constantine made their way into the city. Although some people checked their identities, they dared not refuse them entry once they discovered they were human. And so, they successfully reached a bustling, densely populated area.

The buildings here have unique shapes, as if they've crammed together architecture from different periods over thousands of years into one street, or compressed the rich and poor into one place. Next to towering temples are low shacks, and behind high-tech skyscrapers are pyramid-like stone structures.

The creatures roaming here are incredibly diverse, some resembling humans, others not, and still others seeming to be sentient beings of various plants and animals from Earth. Flying in the sky, running on the ground, and swimming in the water, they throng together, bustling and noisy.

Upon arriving here, Constantine finally got to smoke a cigarette, and Schiller also put one in his mouth. Schiller looked around and then stopped in front of a hotel—he knew it was a hotel because it was written in English and looked like it had previously hosted humans.

He knocked on the hotel door. A blue-skinned man opened the door, and upon seeing two humans, his face crinkled with wrinkles: "Welcome, gentlemen. Meals or lodging?"

Although somewhat broken, he was speaking English. Constantine raised an eyebrow in surprise, while Schiller didn't seem to care much—after all, Earth had defeated the three great empires, and once you become powerful, people will naturally learn your language.

Schiller pulled out two gold bars and said in simpler English, “We need a place to stay. Don’t tell anyone that any humans have been here.”

"This one……"

Schiller then pulled out another gold bar and said, "While you're at it, get something that humans can eat."

The other party immediately and happily put the three gold bars into the cabinet, and then said, "No problem. Second room on the left on the second floor, the second or third room. I'll go get you some food right now."

“Don’t rush.” Schiller pulled out another gold bar and said, “I’m looking for a magician named Constantine. You can find him in two places—a bar or a brothel. Any problem?”

“Constantine? You mean Constantine?” the innkeeper repeated the pronunciation, then said, “He’s not in the bar or the brothel. He’s in the Central Tower. He’s the Central Tower owner’s mistress.”

Who is the owner of the Central Tower?

"He's not human. In human terms, he's an octopus."

Constantine, who was drinking water nearby, spat out his water.

Fourteen million words have been written, and now they've finally started fighting for the Infinity Stones. If movie screenwriters were as good at making things up as I am, they wouldn't have finished making four or five movies in one go.
