Chapter 3602 Believers in Tyranny

Chapter 3602 Believers in Tyranny

"Claire, what specific conclusion are you looking for?"

"Besides regulating imbalances in fate and instability of elements, does this ritual serve any other purpose?"

Audrey then understood:

"You're worried about that? No, at least based on the current information, it has no other function."

She then explained the key points and difficulties of the preliminary preparations for the ceremony, and based on this information, made reasonable predictions about the final outcome of the ceremony:

"It is highly likely that the final ceremony will consist of a central hub and multiple branches. Both the hub and the branches will be staffed with large orchestras, each symbolizing a different aspect of destiny."

As for the seven core musicians, they should be gathered in the center of the island, on the Peak of Destiny. And although current information only concerns the island, based on my calculations, there should be some arrangements in the surrounding waters as well. In that case, we could consider asking Sylvie's mermaid friends for help; they are all natural singers.”

Then Audrey devised a plan for the elders, explaining how to systematically carry out each step of the preparatory work for the ceremony. Claire watched Audrey scribbling on the small blackboard and whispered to Shad:

"It's only at times like this that I feel she's not much different from before."

"Before" refers to before they met Shade, when they were somewhat insane due to their dual-soul nature.

"Did she used to like writing and drawing like this?"

"Yes, she often sets up a small blackboard in the council to share knowledge or make plans. If we raise objections, she becomes very stubborn. Although she won't argue with everyone, she will not speak to the witch she's clashing with for several days."

Claire continued, and then unfortunately Audrey overheard her:

"Claire, pay attention in class, don't get distracted!"

Miss Edwards gave her a slightly displeased look, but she no longer threw tantrums like a child—the two sisters had already stepped onto the adult ladder.

Shad thought nothing would happen that afternoon, but at 2:30, with a familiar 'woof' sound, little Leanna landed in the courtyard of the Snow Mountain Hall at an extremely fast speed, almost breaking down the door leading to the courtyard because of her speed.

"What's going on here?"

Everyone who heard the noise went out to see what was happening, but only little Leona returned. Upon seeing Shad, she anxiously tugged at the hem of his clothes, trying to pull it away. Even though no one here could understand unicorn language, everyone knew what it meant:

"What happened to them?"

So Shad disregarded any ceremony, called Claire and Audrey, and rode little Leona to the snowy mountains.

The two young women were exploring the northern foothills of the snow-capped mountain in the afternoon, so little Leona sped past the side of the mountain, and Audrey and Claire almost couldn't keep up with her.

The snowmelt from the snow-capped mountains forms rivers and lakes at the foot of the mountains, and a small waterfall is formed on the northern slope of the mountains, below which lies a small, unnamed lake.

Even during the dry season in winter, the waterfall is still beautiful when it's frozen over, which is where the girls went in the afternoon.

When little Leona, carrying Shad, saw the ice surface in the distance, several strangers Shad didn't recognize were lying scattered along the edge of the lake. Meanwhile, the little princess, protected by Emilia, was fighting against a giant black serpent coiled on the ice in the middle of the frozen lake with Ellie.

Accompanying them were three unfamiliar Ring Warlocks, one High Ring and two Mid Ring. The High Ring Warlock, like Emilia, had sloughed snakes floating around him; they were fighting together against the Infinite Serpent.

The situation is extremely dire. Although the wielder of the serpent's molt is the only person besides Shad who can truly harm the Infinite Serpent, the evolution speed of this serpent is clearly too fast. The level of power it is currently displaying far exceeds that of the first Infinite Serpent Shad encountered, the one transformed from the revolver in the "empty gun murder case."

The three strangers and the others on the ice were probably all companions. Apart from the high-ring warlock, the other two did not have snake molts, so they did not rashly cast spells on the snake that was spewing cold mist. Instead, they held holy symbols to buff the people participating in the battle.

Layer upon layer of divine ritual arrays unfolded beneath their feet, and Audrey recognized these people almost instantly:

"【Tyranny Club】! They are followers of the god of tyranny. I knew they couldn't possibly be absent during the negotiations between the two countries."

But now is not the time to settle scores with cultists; Infinite Serpent is everyone's enemy.

Before Little Leona had even landed, Shad leaped to the ground. Ellie raised her head, her horns forming a shield that was struggling to block the icy mist spewing from the snake's head. Shad then gripped the Moonlight Greatsword that had appeared out of thin air and slashed at the enormous snake's head.

With a clang, as if a greatsword had struck hard steel, Xia De felt his wrist go numb. As he used spatial teleportation to dodge the snake's bite, he saw that the snake only had a gash cut into its body, and the wound was healing rapidly.

"So hard? It would be nice if this snake could leave its body after it dies."

As he landed, the buffs the cultists had cast on the Ring Warlock were also applied to Shad. The followers of the [God of Tyranny] are known for instigating wars or creating internal strife in nations, and they are particularly skilled in warfare.

Even though Shad had reached the high rings, he could still feel his own power growing through the cultists' "blessings," but along with that came an inner urge to destroy things.

Before Shad appeared, only Emilia and the high-ring sorcerer were attacking the giant serpent, while the mid-ring cultists were responsible for applying buffs, and Ellie was responsible for casting shields.

Even without being attacked by anyone other than the scabbard's owner, the snake's strength continued to increase. After missing its bite in mid-air, it even nimbly flicked its tail.

The serpent's tail, weighing several tons, lashed out counterclockwise along the ice, creating a sonic boom. The cultists, Emilia, and Ellie jumped upwards together, while the little princess, who wasn't quick enough to react, was grabbed by Claire in mid-air and lifted into the air.

She was pale and clutching the metal scepter, clearly terrified by the giant snake.

But Shad didn't have time to comfort the birthday princess. Instead of jumping up and dodging with the others, he took a deep breath and, as his body rapidly grew larger, reached out his hand towards the snake's tail:

"Burning Oath! Red Dragon Power!"

It was as if a giant dragon was roaring in the wind, followed by a deafening roar, or as if an entire armory had been buried beneath the frozen lake and was exploding at that very moment.

Ice crystals swirled in the air. The "giant" standing on the ice grasped the serpent's tail, and flames erupted from his palm, igniting the entire serpent. The serpent, however, seized the opportunity to coil around the giant's body. Its head, raised high in the scorching flames, tried to bite his neck, but Shad grabbed the head and unleashed a crimson, putrid breath into its open mouth.

"The ice on this lake is of such high quality, it doesn't even crack!"

Claire, watching from the air, was astonished to see the giant and the snake locked in combat below. The little princess she was holding explained:

"This snake was born from the 'indestructible' ice surface, which is the entire ice surface of the lake. After it was born, it came into contact with the lake water, and the lake water froze again. Emilia said that this is a talent that this snake was born with."

The putrid, corrupting red mist rapidly rotted the giant serpent's body from the inside with Shad's breath, but even though the serpent's body had begun to leak air, it still did not die.

The frost froze the wounds, which healed rapidly, and then ice began to form on Shad's body, which was still coiled by the giant serpent. Then, with a thud, the giant Shad scattered into a large swarm of red butterflies. As the giant serpent fell back onto the ice, trying to find Shad's whereabouts, the giant descended from the sky and slammed a bolt of silver lightning into the ice:

"Thunder gun!"

Silvery arcs of electricity crackled across the ice surface. The giant serpent tried to raise its head but trembled uncontrollably. Shad, letting the lightning spear explode in his hand, leaped into the air again, but his body had already returned to its original state to facilitate casting spells.

The spirit within his body was transformed into pure silver flames, which then combined with moonlight and appeared in his palms. He pressed his palms together, and the silver orbs within his palms grew brighter and brighter, almost like a moon appearing in broad daylight.

He thrust the silver light forcefully towards the ice below:

"Moonlight Ray - Second Form!"

The enormous silver sphere of light, trailing a trail of light, struck the giant serpent below with a deafening roar. At that moment, the world seemed to lose its color, leaving only the brilliant moonlight radiating from the explosion.

Last time, this move vaporized the fourth-stage pseudo-human in one strike, but this time, Shad, in perfect condition, continued casting spells, and the emitted moonlight continued to output for a full five seconds. Emilia even felt that her pointed ears could hear the sound of ice cracking.

Finally, as the black light exploded in the silver moonlight, a panting Shad stopped his magic.

"This thing is too hard to fight."

When he, Claire, Emilia, and the two little unicorns landed back on the ice, the giant serpent's body had vanished. But the Infinite Serpent had not perished; instead, it had transformed back into the indestructible ice surface.

The owner of the snake molt needs to continuously attack it to eventually destroy it. This is currently the only way to completely eliminate the "Infinite Serpent".

However, Xia De did not act immediately. Instead, he took out a small bottle of flavoring and took a sip, feeling that he needed to recover for a while.

As for Audrey, who came with her, she had already used her magic to capture the three people who had tried to escape.
