Chapter 3807 The Curse of Love
Chapter 3807 The Curse of Love
Chapter 3807 The Curse of Love
Sylvie raised her head from the pool, her golden eyes looking at Shad:
“I love you, Shad.”
Without giving Xia De a chance to respond to her confession, tears streamed down her face.
"Why did I have to meet you? And why did I become so insignificant after meeting you? If I had been the first, I would have received more of your love; if I had been the last, your memories and feelings for me would have been more vivid."
Scenes unfolded in the shimmering water, memories of the time Shad and Sylvie had spent together. Shad watched as he and Sylvie rode in a small boat, circling the island of Fatumunst along the coastline, then looked up at Sylvie and said:
"There will be plenty of time to apologize later. Right now, I just want to say that I haven't deliberately ignored you. You are the same as everyone else in my heart."
“I’m not comparing myself to Luvia; we all know she’s special. But in your heart, am I really the same as Galina, Vanessa, and the others?”
"real."
"Then why are you willing to make/love with them, but not with me?"
Her words were somewhat crude, but that was the question she really wanted to ask.
Girls' jealousy is the most terrible poison.
"She" even said this at this moment, as Shad looked into Sevier's eyes:
“I’m not a very proactive person. I just want to create more memories with you all and find a more suitable opportunity. Sylvie, I never use whether or not I have the most intimate relationship with the girls as the standard to define our relationship.”
The witch wore a miserable expression:
“But Shad, I define our relationship by this.”
As she spoke, she immediately submerged her head in the water, and Xia De then jumped into the pool.
The pool was bottomless, so Shad had no idea how deep it was beforehand. After jumping in, he felt as if he had plunged into a deep crevice in the ocean.
Warm water enveloped him from all sides, below which lay an unfathomable abyss. He tried to search for Sevi in the water, but when he opened his eyes, all he saw was a dense, disjointed mass of images—
Hivi encountered Desire alone in the secret passage beneath the manor, and she participated in and prevented the "Return of the Sea" ritual;
In the council, Adele cast a spell to suppress the curse of the unknown relic for Sylvie, and then she stood alone in the manor in late autumn, watching the leaves fall.
As a pink mermaid mark appeared on her forehead, Sivi withstood a blow from Laplace Howard in his "Edwardsden" state. Then, above the unfamiliar city, Sivi, in her mermaid form, fought against a giant mechanical construct.
At the end of these scenes, a white-haired Sylvie Aurora sits alone in the courtyard of the Aurora Manor in Coldwater Harbor, on the edge of a fountain statue, gazing at the golden yard in another autumn.
Although her face was still young, she exuded an air of age even more pronounced than that of Granny Cassandra. With a sigh, she plunged a pink crystal dagger, resembling the "Stinger of Cupid," into her chest.
As her soul crystallized, her body gradually turned into pink crystals, and finally, she vanished in the autumn sunlight, turning into pink fragments.
"Resurrection!"
Before the final scene disappeared, Shad reached out his right hand from the water toward the image. The fate of "resurrection" shimmered with a soft white light on the back of his hand, and his right hand passed through the image, grasping Sylvie, who was also in the water behind it.
The witch was in a terrible state at the moment. Just as the scene showed, her body was healthy, but her soul was almost withered.
The curse of "desire" gave her power, but demanded that she constantly receive "love" to enrich her soul. Doing so would lead the one giving love to unhappiness, so she refused to do so until her own soul withered away.
To prevent the birth of something even more terrifying after her soul's death, she or the council sought out an artifact related to the Old God—the God of Love—and used it to end her life.
As Shad embraced Sylvie in the water, "she" softly summarized and speculated about what had just happened. This speculation was probably what would have happened in a past life when Luvia did not interfere with "desire".
However, Shad knew that the Sylvie he was holding at this moment belonged to his own time. Seeing that the fate of the resurrected could not save the decline of the soul power, he tried Moonfire and Darkmoon Grace, but none of them worked.
"The inner fire".
After sharing the warmth of her soul with Sylvie, her condition improved somewhat, but a little bit of soul warmth was not enough to restore her to normal.
Share your soul's power; your soul is strong enough.
The "she" in my ear gave me advice.
"But I won't share my soul power."
She smiled gently:
Open your soul, and embrace and fill her with your emotions.
So, in the water, Shad cradled that pale face and kissed it. Memories of the past stirred emotions within him; a complex mix of love and guilt brought Shad's soul and Sylvie's soul together.
Love is the interaction between souls, and so the withered soul draws some of the strength of the great soul.
She opened her golden eyes in a daze in the water and saw Xia De so close to her, and felt the wet but incredibly passionate kiss.
She closed her eyes again, then let herself fully immerse herself in the kiss. Shad felt them both rising rapidly, and felt Sylvie holding him tightly.
But when he finally poked his head out from under the water, he found that the witch in his arms had disappeared again.
"I never imagined I would jump into this pool."
Before Shad could even dry his clothes with the flames after climbing out of the pool, he heard Sylvie's singing again.
He then left the dark room and continued through the secret passage. He remembered that the passage would become narrower and narrower until it was just a crack in the rock, but this time the passage remained wide enough for one person to pass through.
At the end of the secret passage lies a hidden dock beneath the cliff on the side of Aurora Manor. This dock appears to be a section of the sea cliff that has been artificially hollowed out. Compared to its abandoned state when Shad saw it in the present world, the dock now looks like it has been in continuous use.
The newly built pier stretched from the dark cave into the moonlight, and the singing witch stood at its end. Waves rolled at her feet, the moonlight illuminated her graceful figure, and the shadows of the sea cliffs and mansion behind her were cast only to the other side.
Compared to the woman I saw at the window earlier, Sylvie, now dressed in a white dress, looked more like a goddess from a story.
Shad strode across the pier, the moonlight making him feel refreshed. The witch, who had been singing with her back to him, stopped again upon hearing his footsteps.
Turning to look at Shad, the witch who had absorbed the power of the soul had returned to normal. Shad sensed something in her eyes, and tentatively asked:
"Sevi, you remember what's going on now, don't you?"
The witch blushed, but silently opened her arms. After Shad came over and hugged her, she hugged Shad back and began to sob.
She seemed aware of the situation, yet also appeared to be lost in memories that weren't hers. Although Shad had never experienced anything like this before, he knew what he had to do.
Gently patting Sylvie's back, he felt everything about the witch in his arms. Her body and soul were both real, but the "curse of desire" also truly existed within this body.
That was a power that simultaneously bound the body and soul, even directly influencing fate; she had just explained how to alleviate this curse—
"Sevi, I love you."
"No, don't say that!"
The weeping witch immediately spoke, even trying to push Shad away:
“Those who give me ‘love’ will all suffer misfortune, and no one should give me love. Shad, leave me.”
But she couldn't move Shad; instead, Shad held her even tighter.
The struggling witch gradually sensed Shad's most genuine emotions in his silence. After a moment, she stopped struggling and asked, tears streaming down her face:
Am I really that important to you?
"Yes, that is an undeniable fact."
Amidst the rustling sound of crystallization, his right hand produced a pink "Cupid's Thorn" from thin air:
"The curse of love must be lifted by giving love. The love granted by the divine artifact is the power of the gods; it can only lift the curse, but it cannot give you true love. But my dagger is different—"
Those individuals to whom I have never given emotion will have their souls crystallized after being stabbed; and those girls I deeply love will gain power from within me through this dagger—the Pink Crystal Spell.
He handed the dagger to Sylvie, then grasped Sylvie's right hand that was holding the dagger:
"Sevi, do you believe in my feelings for you?"
The witch's hand was held by Shad, and she drew the dagger towards her own heart. Tears welled in Sylvie Aurora's eyes as she looked at Shad, standing beside her at the end of the pier in the moonlight.
“I never doubted your feelings for me, Shad. I was just... I was just jealous, insecure, and a little resentful.”
She wrapped her left arm around Shad, and then with her right hand, she and Shad gripped the dagger together, which was then plunged into Sylvie's left chest.
A pink glow bloomed under the night sky, and the light from the [Stinger of Cupid] enveloped Sylvie's entire body in a pink aura. The surging soul power even turned the black sea a pale pink, and within that halo, the mermaid's phantom vanished silently.
