Chapter 4054 The First Child and the Jade Record
Miss Felian Anna's doll-like body is not her true self; she projected herself into it through a ritual. Therefore, even if Shad leaves in a while, she can only stay here and wait to walk out with everyone else.
For the remainder of the time, as everyone watched the flesh and organs piece together to form a human figure on the ground, they all felt as if they understood something. The demigod witch also took this opportunity to give Xia Dexin further instruction:
“Just now you integrated the spark from the source of fire into your own moonlight, which was excellent. When light exists alone, its purity can indeed better exert its power. But light can also be a vessel. Shad, you can think about it later. The red moon can carry life, so what can silver moonlight and yellow moonlight carry?”
Although she couldn't bring all her power, the petite Miss Ferriananna still possessed a level of knowledge that all the witches present combined couldn't match. She then instructed Shad on how to fuse "light" with other types of power; as the Great Witch of "light," Miss Ferriananna was exceptionally skilled in this practice.
Shad also asked Miss Feliananna if he needed to bring her some spellcasting materials next time, but Miss Doll only mentioned that she needed some basic materials to make doll-shaped avatars for everyone.
This didn't require extremely rare materials, nor did it need to be any relics, so Shad could bring all of those things. The other three companions didn't make many demands this time; with what Shad brought, they could last for a long time.
"Don't forget the methods to suppress 'withering' and what I just told you."
The doll on his shoulder gave further instructions, and then asked Shad if he had any other questions he wanted her to answer.
"Miss Feliana, do you know the specific origin of [active metals]?"
Shad then asked a question, and the halfling girl, who held the demigod witch in great awe, interjected:
"My sister said that the special properties of [active metals] are related to that ancient god of creation. That's all I know."
Miss Doll nodded:
“Your sister is right. But I’ve only heard rumors about it, so just listen to it as a story, Shad.”
Everyone looked at her with interest, and the blonde doll continued:
"That's the story of the beginning of creation. In that ancient era, the world had not yet fully returned to order from chaos. So the ancient god of creation tried to create a kind of life that could survive in such a harsh environment, wanting to use them to transform the world."
Thus, a powerful life form was born. They were the first creations of the Twilight Creator, the earliest of the ancient life forms, predating even the Thunder Titans. They are known as the First Children.
Miss Bradley huddled up next to Gina, seemingly wanting to cover herself with Gina's large tail:
"You mean, active metals are..."
"It is possible that he is one of the 'First Children'."
The demigoddess spoke softly, and the four people sitting together all gasped slightly, but none dared to ask further. The story traced back to the very beginning of the mythological era, something clearly inappropriate to discuss here.
"Is there anything else you'd like to ask, Shad?"
The doll asked again, and Xia De thought of the [Jade Record] and Wei Ge's mother:
"Miss Felian Anna, have you ever seen the Unknown-level relic, the [Emerald Record]?"
He told his companions the story of the female alchemist and the leather objects, and repeated the words he had heard from the black stone tablet. The witches' hatred for leather objects was intense; even the old witch showed disgust on her face.
“I originally thought that after the Fourth Age ended, this kind of thing would never happen again in the material world.”
Miss Doll thought for a moment:
“I have heard of the Jade Record and know some of its knowledge, but I have never actually seen it. However, I can understand some of what that female alchemist wanted to do: to verify the power of the ancient god of creation in the Jade Record by creating the ‘Perfect Child’, so as to comprehend the origin of creation herself.”
“But I don’t understand, Principal Feliananna, since Shad said that the ‘Perfect Child’ has been born, then she has already succeeded. Why then do you want to divide it into four?”
Gina asked, puzzled. The doll smiled and said:
"Ms. Gustav, can you guess why?"
The old witch, whose name was called, replied:
"To create a perfect child, it's not enough to simply adjust one's own flesh and blood and then have intimate contact with such a monstrous thing as skin. I think what she gave birth to was not a true 'perfect child,' and further steps are needed to adjust it."
The little doll nodded in agreement:
“Shad, you must be careful. Assuming that the female alchemist was a bad person, the stone tablet she left behind says that ‘the perfect child can heal offspring.’ I’m afraid she wasn’t doing it out of kindness for her own descendants.”
Xia De understood what she meant:
"Was Vige also part of completing the 'Perfect Child'? Did that female alchemist deliberately lure Vige into contact with her sister, and then cause some kind of reaction between them?"
"It's hard to say, just remember to be careful. What I really want to tell you is the second sentence on that stone tablet you mentioned—['The Philosopher's Stone' is earth, 'The Spark' is fire, this is the path to the original creation]."
Gina, in alchemy, what do fire and earth generally represent?
This was a fairly basic topic in alchemy. The dragon girl, whose name was called upon, immediately sat up straight, intending to answer, but her head bumped into the metal plate of the shelter:
"Oh, sorry. I mean, earth generally refers to our physical body, while fire refers to the spirit."
Miss Felicity nodded:
"Mind and body constitute life itself. Shad, perhaps you have already realized that the definition of life in the 'death' system places more emphasis on the existence of the soul. But in the 'creation' system, more emphasis is placed on whether the mind and body are complete, and the soul can spontaneously arise from the spirituality of the body and mind."
Alchemists of our time consider the creation of the Philosopher's Stone the highest art of alchemy, but in the Fourth Age and earlier, the most profound subject of alchemy was actually the creation of new life through alchemy.
Mrs. Gustav nodded in agreement:
"It was only after the Fourth Age that this kind of research became taboo, which is why we hardly see people talking about it now in the Fifth Age."
Miss Felicity continued:
"The second sentence on the stone tablet you found is clearly the path to creating life that the female alchemist discovered—the body is the Philosopher's Stone, and the spirit is the life force. I admit that this sounds feasible, but the key is how to use the Philosopher's Stone to shape the body, how to manipulate the life force, and how to combine the two together."
The specimen bottle you obtained from the factory demonstrates that the Philosopher's Stone cannot be easily integrated into a body, and manipulating the life force is clearly beyond the capabilities of ordinary mortals. She most likely used a shortcut, namely, merging with another version of herself wearing leather. Therefore, after giving birth to that child, further steps are needed to perfect the child's essence and remove impurities.
Shad imagined in his mind the Philosopher's Stone being sculpted into a human shape, then the AllSpark being embedded into that human-shaped red stone, and the "little red man" coming to life. For some reason, he felt a little amused.
"I think this is most likely the truth."
He said this, while Mrs. Gustave's expression was complicated:
"This is a very taboo practice, but I admit that the female alchemist you mentioned is truly very talented. She has come a long way on the path of flesh and blood creation. Fortunately, she was not born in the Fourth Age."
The petite Miss Feliciano smiled, then keenly sensed the white mist swirling around Shad. Shad's time was almost up, so she quickly said:
"Although I have never seen the Jade Record in person, I have heard someone repeat a sentence from it."
The thirteen sentences inscribed within that unknowable relic are themselves its most important component; therefore, even if these thirteen sentences were known, they could not be easily shared with others. To utter those sentences would be tantamount to relinquishing a part of the relic.
Xia De nodded slightly. After learning one of the sentences from Wei Ge, he realized that he could not easily say it, but Wei Ge herself could.
"Now I'm telling you this sentence, and I think that part of the inspiration for that female alchemist came from this sentence."
She turned over on Shad's shoulder, bringing her head close to Shad's ear again to make sure only Shad could hear her:
"The sun is the father, the moon is the mother; nurtured by the wind, sustained by the earth."
Shad's eyes instantly went blank. The witch, who had already sensed some of Shad's secrets, curled the corners of her lips and added before he completely disappeared from this space-time:
"Of course, after the ancient alchemists' interpretation, there are even more detailed methods of interpretation for this statement—"
"The sun and moon are our parents, nurtured by the winds of the spirit and sustained by the stones of miracles. This is the most basic step in creating life."
Shad's figure disappeared into the white mist. Gina was worried that the doll would fall to the ground, so she quickly reached out to catch it, but the doll floated in the air on its own, allowing the "Spark" that Shad had indeed failed to take to float in front of her.
Although the doll is small compared to a normal-sized human, it is very large relative to the spark that is the size of a normal eye.
"Shad is gone."
She sighed softly, then reached out and gently touched the metal eye with her finger, and the AllSpark quickly transformed into a flame-shaped eye.
