Chapter 4206 Time Lock

Chapter 4206 Time Lock

Chapter 4206 Time Lock

The area outlined by the fiery red lines was shaped like a tree hole, but the hole didn't open immediately. After Shad removed his hand, tiny specks of starlight lit up again within the black area surrounded by the fiery red lines.

"This is."

Daniste stepped forward to examine the scene and memorized the star map before the traces of the tree hole completely disappeared:

"This should be it. The starlight appearing above the tree hole is a time lock. Only when the stars reach the right position can the tree hole truly open after it appears. Miss Feliananna and the others are worried that someone has found this place many years in advance."

Emilia then asked:

"But isn't the time right now? When will that time lock be unlocked? Did Miss Feliana specify the unlocking time down to a particular day?"

"No, no, the stars will be in the right positions for the next ten years, but due to changes in the night sky, we will need to wait for a specific lunar phase."

The red-haired sorceress, who appeared to be about eighteen years old, looked up at the three moons and calculated the time after a dozen seconds:

"Looks like we're in luck. Today is Monday, so we should be able to open the tree hole around Thursday night. When that happens, Shad will use the mark to reveal the tree hole again, and I'll guide the moonlight to illuminate the area on the bark. Then we'll be able to find our teacher."

Her face was beaming with smiles, and even Ellie could tell that she was in a very good mood.

Emilia also laughed:

"So the matter is resolved? It went even more smoothly than I expected. We just sent the egg away this morning, and we found a clue tonight. Miss Feliananna and her team are really ingenious; the way they hid it was excellent."

But when Daniste, still smiling, looked at the tree again, she realized something:

"The size of the tree hole is incorrect."

"what?"

"Unless the space inside the tree hole is much larger than the entrance, it cannot hide a person; at most, it can only hide an egg."

Her expression changed again:

"Did the egg fail to hatch successfully in the Fifth Age?"

Shad placed his hand on the sorceress's shoulder:

“I have some ideas. We’ve proposed a hypothesis before: the moon egg is also a dragon egg. Its hatching requires time, and even more so, vitality. Now that it has returned from thousands of years ago, we have the time; and having been with that spark for so long, we also have the vitality.”

Shad paused for a moment:

"Perhaps the moon eggs weren't unhatched, but rather Miss Feliana and the others left the final step to us."

Daniste thought for a moment:

“I remember that time and space inside the Tree Hole Curse was completely frozen.”

Emilia, however, had a different opinion:

"Since Miss Feliananna and the others can change the way they open the tree hole, it shouldn't be too difficult to change the flow of time inside. After all, it's very difficult to stop time, but it's a little easier to make time flow normally."

Denise then nodded slightly, looking at the tree with hope:

"Yes, anyway, as long as I wait until Thursday, I will be able to see my teacher again. The separation will be shorter than I expected."

Xia De asked:

"You don't want to stay here every night for the next couple of days, do you?"

"of course not."

Daniste shook her head:

"However, for safety reasons, I need to request temporary protection for this tree, at least until Thursday night, to prevent those naughty students from getting close to it."

Denise was very efficient. She told Emilia to take Shad for a stroll around the neighborhood, and then hurriedly returned to her tower to change her clothes before heading off to see Principal Pigman.

Seeing Daniste leave, the pointy-eared sprite suddenly had a "wicked" idea. However, she remembered that Ellie was still with her, so she said to her unicorn friend:

"Ellie, it's getting late. I remember you have to go to morning class with Leanna and the others tomorrow. Things are mostly done here, you can go back now."

But the white-haired girl standing next to Xia De shook her head:

"No, stay and watch over Shad."

Xia De asked:

"Ellie, why are you looking at me?"

So the unicorn girl told the truth:

"Because you are a unicorn cub, and I am an adult unicorn, I must protect you."

As she spoke, she proudly puffed out her chest, and the blonde elf found confidence in her; after all, witches were generally too intimidating for young girls just coming of age. But Emilia asked, puzzled:

"I've been curious ever since you all surrounded Shad when he went to the unicorn habitat yesterday. Why do you all think he's a unicorn cub?"

The person beside her chuckled softly, probably finding the topic quite interesting as well. Ellie frowned slightly, as if she hadn't understood the question:

"A unicorn cub is a unicorn cub, and Shad is a unicorn cub!"

She rarely spoke such a long sentence. Although Ellie's human language was already very good, the unicorn girl preferred the way of speaking one word at a time.

Emilia knew she wouldn't get an answer, so she tried to persuade her again:

"I'll protect Shad, Ellie. Don't you trust me?"

Allie looked at Emilia suspiciously:

"Emilia, are you up to no good?"

"no!"

The little fairy immediately assured her, and Ellie blinked:

"Okay, Emilia, please make sure Shad doesn't have any bad intentions~"

"Okay, Ellie. So, are you going back to the dorm or back to the unicorn habitat?"

"Habitat!"

"We'll take you to the teleportation array. Honestly, Ellie, we're best friends, how could you doubt me?"

Quite by chance, just as the three were about to reach the teleportation area, they encountered the little unicorns who had just finished their nighttime experiment class. Ellie then left with them, and after Emilia waved goodbye to little Leanna and watched them all disappear, she looked at Shad with some anticipation.

Shad had understood Emilia's plan from the beginning, and he nodded slightly:

“Then let’s find a place to sit down before Daniste returns.”

“Come with me, I know a place that’s perfect.”

Emilia used to see older male and female students having secret rendezvous throughout the academy. Back then, the little elf only wanted to go on a grand adventure with little Leona, so she looked down on their "waste of time" behavior.

Now that the elf girl has grown up, she can enjoy the sweet taste of love at the academy.

(Mia is running.)

At nine o'clock in the evening, Shad and Danist returned to No. 6 St. Teresa's Square. Emilia had blushed and run away like a short-eared rabbit when Danist saw her kissing Shad. When Shad got home and saw Mia hopping to greet him, he was still thinking about Emilia's shyness.

Luvia, wearing a nightgown, was leaning against the sofa reading a book when she heard footsteps and got up to greet them.

She glanced at their expressions and said with certainty:

"So, things went very smoothly?"

"Yes, the location has been found, and we just need to wait until Thursday to open the tree hole."

Daniste said happily that she had applied for protection for the dragon blood tree. Now the central courtyard of the Academy Castle was completely sealed off, and in addition to the fence, Danistee personally cast spells to ensure that not even a bird or a cat could get near the tree.

However, she had already moved the bird's nest from the tree beforehand, and as for the lazy cats in the academy, Daniste thought they would find other areas to play.

"That's good. This way, we can get our hands on the second Spark Source. Many of the secret techniques in that book, 'The Secret Techniques of the Spark Source,' are quite interesting. I was just thinking that if you really can't find it, I can perform another divination."

Luvia gently hugged Shad, then unexpectedly discovered that he carried Emilia's unique scent. Luvia smiled slightly, but didn't point it out to Shad.

“Then go wash up and tell me how you found it. Miss Feliana must have given a very clever puzzle, just like the power she left for Shad in the 'Dream of Saint Byron'.”

The nightlife at No. 6 St. Teresa's Place was always quite vibrant, and this night was no exception. Denise had been under a lot of stress lately because of the Moon Egg, and this was a small opportunity to relieve that stress.

She brought her school uniform with her, and during the evening's activities, she and Luvia worked together seamlessly. Even Luvia could sense that she was genuinely happy that night. It seemed like a night for three, but because Danist could freely switch between her original age and her eighteen-year-old self, it sometimes felt like a night for four.

Luvia envied this skill, or rather, most of the girls in her family envied it:

"Eighteen years old, youthful and beautiful. The miracle of reversing age was ultimately only achieved by you and Emilia. Flora still complains that she only got the owl's original form."

Daniste chuckled softly:

"Luvia, you're not that old. Isn't your twenties the most youthful and beautiful age for a girl?"

She cradled Shad's head in her arms and then told Luvia, who was busy behind Shad, some amusing stories:

"Speaking of which, these past two days while we were at the unicorn habitat, those little unicorn girls all said that Shad was a unicorn cub. You see, Shad really does have a childlike heart sometimes."

Then, Daniste saw Luvia's expression through Shad and suddenly realized something. Both knew there was something they couldn't say, so they paused for a moment, then pretended not to know anything and stopped talking about it.

Tuesday arrived, and Winnie came home early to prepare breakfast. Denise had been out too much fun the night before and was only half-asleep when Shad woke her for breakfast, remembering she had an 8:00 AM class—a joint lecture between the Library Science and History departments.

"I won't be eating at home, Shad. Don't forget to come see me on Thursday evening!"

After a quick wash, she was about to leave when Winnie handed her some bread she had prepared. The building manager thanked Winnie with a smile before hurrying downstairs.

The Prophet's Association doesn't require employees to arrive at work this early, so Luvia wasn't in a hurry to leave.

"So, Shad, what are your plans for today?"

"Let's go to Vigo's place first and continue purifying her sister. If there's nothing else, today is Crimson Butterfly Day for Lacia and Dorothy. We've already agreed to read together, so let's look through the information Miss Ferriananna left me, as well as the information given to us by the False Man and Desire."
